Russell Hoffman, Owner, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Certified California Common Interest Development Manager

A former Board President of his Homeowners Association, Russell formed Valencia Management Group in 1994 along with Leonard McKinley CPA, to provide Community Association Management Services to the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas. Russell is a graduate of California State University Northridge, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Following graduation he worked as a buyer for companies including May Company California, Vons Grocery Company, and Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies. Russell is active with the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, having served on the Board of Directors and Co-Chairing the Satellite Programs Committee.

Mr. Hoffman earned all three of the management certifications from Community Association Institute (CAI), including the top designation of Professional Community Association Manager ,and is a certified California Community Interest Development Manager.

Leonard McKinley, Owner, CPA
Certified Public Accountant

Leonard has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration; Option Accounting Theory and Practice, graduating from California State University Northridge in May 1982. He was granted a Certified Public Accountant License in October 1984 and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Following graduation he worked at several West Los Angeles local accounting firms before starting Valencia Management Group along with Russ Hoffman in December 1994. His family has lived in the Santa Clarita Valley since 1973, and his wife Jennie's family homesteaded the Santa Clarita Valley in 1890.

Catherine Gemind, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Vice President - Corporate Development
Certified California Common Interest Development Manager

Cathy has been in the commercial property and community association management industry since 1991 and is the Vice President of Corporate Development at Valencia Management Group. For five years, she was the assistant on-site manager of a 3,000 unit association after which she joined VMG in 2001 as a Senior Community Association Manager, bringing with her solid experience in handling CC&R enforcement, contract administration, budgeting, conducting board and member meetings, building and landscape maintenance, insurance programs, and human resources.

Mrs. Gemind earned all three of the management certifications from Community Association Institute (CAI), including the top designation of Professional Community Association Manager. She is a member of the Community Association Institute's National Faculty and has spoken at several CAI chapter programs, teaches the Essentials of Community Association Leadership for the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI-GLAC), and developed the Board of Directors Development Seminar for Community Associations offered to VMG's clients. Additionally, she is a certified California Community Interest Development Manager. Catherine is currently a Board Member and Secretary of CAI's Greater Los Angeles Chapter.

Gail Jones, CCAM, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Certified California Common Interest Development Manager

Gail earned an Associates of Arts degree from Mount San Antonio College. She has served as the Secretary and President of her own homeowners association and moved into the management field in 1995. Gail has held both on-site and portfolio management positions. As a PCAM, Gail attends continuing education programs and has served on the Programs, Expo, and Publicity committees of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.

Ruth Moffit, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Certified California Common Interest Development Manager

Ruth comes to us with an extensive background in customer service and office management. Prior to joining VMG, Ruth worked as Grievance Liaison (customer service) and Network Department Manager for GE Dental and Vision, a division of General Electric. Ruth also gained office management experience by managing upscale dental offices in Santa Clarita, Simi Valley and Beverly Hills. Ruth has been in the association management industry for 10 years and holds the CMCA, AMS and PCAM Designations.

Tina Nakamura, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Certified California Common Interest Development Manager

Tina is a graduate of California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Speech Communication. She comes to us with a background in retail and customer service and has worked for companies including Cartier and Universal Studios. Tina joined VMG in 2003 and holds the CMCA, AMS and PCAM Designations. 

Christine Albrecht, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Certified California Common Interest Development Manager

Christine, who holds a Real Estate Salesperson license, has been involved in the Community Association Management field since 2004. She has earned her Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation, AMS and PCAM designations.

Laurie Mark, CMCA, AMS
Certified California Common Interest Development Manager

Laurie gained her experience in the property management field working as the on-site manager for a 264 unit condominium community in Valencia. She has been in the association management industry for 16 years and worked as a real estate agent for a Valencia-based real estate company before coming to work for Valencia Management Group. She holds the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) certification and the Association Management Specialist (AMS) designation.

Cara Brown, CMCA, AMS
Certified California Common Interest Development Manager

Cara is a graduate of College of the Canyons in Valencia with an Associates Degree in Social Science. Before stating in the community association industry, she spent a number of years organizing and promoting events for the Southern California Golf Association. Cara came to VMG as an Assistant Manager in 2008 with just under one year of community association management experience. After spending eighteen months in our management mentoring program, she was promoted to Community Association Manager. She holds the CMCA and AMS designations.
